Tap the "+" button on the Deals map, take a photo of the offer, choose a category (Food, Grocery, Pub, or Freebie), add optional notes, and post. Location must be enabled so your deal appears in the right place on the map.
Pub deals are hidden until you confirm you are 18+ in Profile → Settings → Age Verified. Alcohol-related content may also be restricted by region, moderation filters, or sign-in provider age signals. You must be of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction.
Check that you have internet access, camera and location permissions are enabled, and your note follows community guidelines (no profanity or misleading content). Wait for GPS before posting. If it still fails, force-quit and reopen the app, then contact support.
Open Profile → Settings and toggle Notifications off. You can also disable SnagMate notifications in your device Settings. Deal Radius in the app controls how far away deals can trigger alerts.
Legend Points reward helpful community activity. You earn points for posting deals (+5 base), a daily first-post bonus (+3), completing the weekly challenge of 3 posts in a week (+20), when others confirm your deal is still there (+2), and when someone shares your deal (+1). Points unlock tiers on the Legends leaderboard (Fresh Snagger → Snag Royale). Week boundaries use Melbourne (AEST) time.
Deals expire automatically so the map stays fresh: Food deals last about 8 hours, Grocery about 12 hours, Pub about 4 hours, and Freebies about 6 hours. Expired deals are removed from the map; this is normal — post again if you spot a new snag.
SnagMate uses passwordless sign-in with Google or Apple. There is no separate SnagMate password. You must be at least 13 years old and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to create an account. You can browse nearby deals without signing in, but posting, reporting, and verifying deals requires an account.
Open the deal, tap "Report this deal", choose a reason (fake, expired, inappropriate, etc.), and submit. You must be signed in so we can review reports properly. Misusing reports may lead to account action.
You can delete your account from Profile → Account → Delete account in the app, or email snagmate-legal@proton.me with the subject line "Delete My Account" and include the email linked to your SnagMate account. Deletion permanently removes your Legend Points and deal history.
Still There lets signed-in users confirm a deal is still available at the location. Confirmations help the community trust live offers and earn the deal owner extra Legend Points. You can undo a confirmation if you tapped by mistake.
Location is used while you use the app to show deals within about 10 km of you and to place your posts on the map. SnagMate does not track your location in the background. Turn on Location in device Settings if the map shows no nearby deals.
Yes. You can browse the deal map and list without an account. Sign in is required to post deals, report content, verify deals, earn Legend Points, and appear on the leaderboard.
SnagMate supports Food, Grocery, Pub (18+ only to view), and Freebie (including nature-strip items). Choose the category that best matches your snag so others can filter the map.
We collect account info from Google/Apple sign-in, deal photos and post location, usage analytics, and push tokens if you enable notifications. See our Privacy Policy for full details on retention, your rights, and how to contact us.
To request permanent deletion of your SnagMate account and associated data, email snagmate-legal@proton.me using the subject line 'Delete My Account'. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe.
You can also start deletion from Profile → Account → Delete account inside the app.
Some information may be retained where legally required.
